Missing Context

Bradford did vote for an island airport referendum. He mentioned it 64 minutes after the fight was over.

Claim“I've been clear that Torontonians need to have a say on major decisions that affect our waterfront. That's why I voted in favour of a referendum on the proposed island airport expansion. While Toronto's seat at the table should never have been taken away, I am grateful the federal government has listened to residents.”

The vote happened exactly as described. On 21 May, Bradford was one of nine councillors who voted for a referendum on the island airport, and he voted to let the motion be debated at all. But the clarity he claims consists of that vote and, as far as the public record shows, nothing else — and he first mentioned it 64 minutes after the federal government killed the expansion.
